Splash-and-Go Ceramic Water Stone The Debado SNE Stones from Suehiro offer splash-and-go convenience and the better shape holding characteristics that go with this harder stone format. The Debado SNE stones are made with Suehiro's ceramic process, similar to their Cerax soaking stone line but harder for better wear resistance, making for long lasting, fast cutting stones. These stones form a slurry and offer good feedback. Intended for professional use, they will also serve the home sharpener well. The Debado SNE Stones have a sharpening surface of 205 mm x 73 mm, approximately 8-1/8" x 2-7/8". The thickness is about 23 mm, about 7/8". Working Base/Storage Unit Each Debado SNE Stone is mounted to a plate which is designed to fit into the Base Unit. The Base Unit is an ingenious combination of working stone holder and storage case. The plate, which the stones are mounted to, fits snugly to the Base Unit. The Plate can be flipped so that either stone is facing up for working while the other is safely tucked away in the Base Unit. This sturdy working stone holder raises the stone's face almost 2-1/2" above the surrounding surface, and its large feet hold it firmly in place. When not in use, the cover fits over the top for safe, convenient storage. Nagura Stone Included Debado SNE stones come with a nagura stone for cleaning and refreshing the surface. The nagura stone should be soaked prior to use for maximum efficiency. For convenience, the Working Base / Storage Case features a special compartment just for storing the nagura stone. There are six grits to choose from: 320 grit - Green Stone, Suehiro part # 400-SNE 600 grit - Blue-Grey Stone, Suehiro part # 800-SNE 1000 grit - Red Stone, Suehiro part # 1200-SNE 1500 grit - Blue Stone, Suehiro part # 2000-SNE 3000 grit - Yellow Stone, Suehiro part # 4000-SNE 6000 grit - White Stone - Suehiro part # 8000-SNE Note that the numbers printed on the stones are Suehiro's part numbers, and not the grit numbers.
